Position: HR-generalist (HR Officer)

Stockholm International School (SIS) is going through an exciting stage in its history. In autumn 2023, the School will move in to the Norra Latin building which, together with our existing site on Johannesgatan, will create an impressive campus in the heart of the dynamic city of Stockholm. About the position
Here at SIS, you will get the opportunity to work in an international environment, in an operational, strategic and partially coaching HR-role. As an HR-generalist you’re going to work independently but also be part of other teams. Among your closest contacts will be the Business Manager and the Payroll Officer.

General Responsibilities: 

  • Consulting/supporting/coaching  Manager and employees.
  • Assist in all internal and external HR-related matters, which means working within the entire HR area, both at an operational and strategic level with recruitment, labour law, engagement surveys, negotiations, systematic work environment, rehabilitation, gender equality and equal treatment and other matters within HR and Swedish Labour Law. 
  • Participate/Coordinate in negotiations with the unions and the local union club.
  • Engage in the development of  organisational guidelines and procedures. 
  • Recommend strategies to motivate employees. 
  • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks, and issuing employment contracts. 
  • Support the work permit application process & provide relocation information.
  • Conduct the school onboarding process for new staff.
  • Support the Line Managers in the process to complete employee development plans and performance management.
  • Manage the organisation’s employee database and prepare reports. 
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practice 

Qualifications & Experience (mandatory):

  • Relevant education in the sphere of HR and Swedish work legislation. 
  • Broad, general experience of working with different HR-processes. 
  • Knowledge and experience from Swedish Labour Law. 
  • Experience of leading/participating in union negotiations.
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbal and written (English is the working language). 
  • The ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues, line managers and other stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently and take responsibility for all internal and external HR matters.
  • Structured and proactive work process
  • The ability to lead several processes at the same time.
  • The ability to take initiative and come with improvement suggestions.
  • A pleasant and friendly personality.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in School Collective Agreement (Friskoleavtalet)
  • Experience in Hogia Personal
  • Experience in migration and Visa.

Aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection, we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection. Included in the recruitment process will be a local and national police check as well as a mandatory police background check from the last year of employment in every country worked.

Contract:

Permanent position with a 6 month probation period.

Full-time, 100%.

Start date: April/May 2023.

Salary: monthly, individually negotiated.
