At SIS, students take part in Service as Action (SAA) in the IB Middle Years Programme and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) in the IB Diploma Programme. These are required parts of the IB curriculum, but they are also exciting opportunities for students to explore their interests, follow their passions, and express themselves in meaningful ways.

Students are carefully guided by their teachers and supported by dedicated SAA and CAS coordinators. They receive advice, encouragement, and mentoring as they choose projects and work towards their goals.

Service as Action (SAA)

SAA helps students become caring, responsible members of society. Through community and personal projects, students learn how to plan, take action, and reflect on their work. These projects allow them to make a positive difference to others and to the environment around them, while developing confidence and a sense of responsibility.

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

CAS supports a healthy balance between academic study and real-life learning. Students grow through hands-on experiences in the arts (Creativity), physical activity (Activity), and community involvement (Service). Along the way, they build important life skills such as leadership, empathy, and teamwork. Students record and reflect on their experiences in a CAS portfolio, which is an essential part of completing the IB Diploma Programme.

Through SAA and CAS, SIS students develop not only strong academic skills, but also the values, confidence, and compassion needed to succeed in the wider world.

The Nepal Project

Our Nepal Project is one of our most popular CAS choices with students. Find out in this video what they do and what they get out of the experience.
