Gunjit Sethi

Gunjit Kaur Sethi was born and brought up in New Delhi, India. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Delhi, a Bachelor’s in Education, and a 3 year diploma in Computer Programming with specialization in Software Architecture.

The first 10 years of her teaching career were at a school in New Delhi where she started as an IT, Science, and English teacher. She then took on the role of a Middle Years Leader and was responsible for Academic as well as Pastoral care of students from grade 6 to 10. Gunjit started her international teaching career with Stockholm International School in 2015 and then moved to International Engelska Skolan (IES) for 2 years before returning to SIS as the Dean of students in 2017.

As Dean, Gunjit oversees and leads many programs and departments at SIS such as: Student Support team (this includes Learning support, counsellors, nurses), after school music program, sports association, MUN, Enrichment activities, Student Council, Mother Tongue Program, Nepal project, and ERASMUS+ project. She also is the designated Safeguarding lead at the school. Her passion and prime focus is always student well-being.
