Middle school is a time of significant change. During these years, young people develop their sense of self and their relationship with the world around them. 

At SIS, we focus on the development of students and student wellbeing, so that learning can be prioritised in the best environment for the students.

Our community of caring and talented educators is committed to nurturing, inspiring, and challenging each student at this important stage of development. We focus on important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging. A strong advisory programme is central to the SIS Middle School experience. Our advisories foster strong relationships among students and their advisors and create a safe environment for emotional and academic support. 

Our academic program is rigorous and focused on the cultivation of deep and meaningful global understanding. Students are challenged to think, question, express, and create, and to transform their ideas into action. At SIS, we follow the IB Middle Years Programme, a rigorous, internationally-minded programme.

The programme of study consists of major courses in English, mathematics, social studies, world languages, science, physical education, music, and the arts. However, at the heart, we focus on the transitionary skills, those that we all continuously are improving; communication, social, research, thinking, and self-management skills. We offer other opportunities for students to pursue their interests via our enrichment courses, athletic program, and service-minded clubs.
