Getting our IB
It’s not just our 12th graders in the home straight of their Diploma Programme who are excited by all the IB involves. The School can take pride in being recently reaccredited as an IB school in Middle School and Upper School. The School is also now an official Candidate School with the International Baccalaureate organisation to teach the IB Primary Years Programme too.
Becoming an IB PYP candidate school means that SIS has now officially adopted the IB Primary Years Programme as we transition away from the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Primary School Principal, David Osler, welcomed the candidacy status saying ‘the acceptance of our application to become a PYP candidate school recognises and affirms the substantial work our PYP Coordinator and teaching staff have done this school year in elevating the learning experiences of our students, particularly in terms of student agency and inquiry’.
