Library Media Centre (LMC)

Our Library Media Centres (LMC) make a significant difference to student learning. Their flexible, multi-use approach make them integral to the cultural and social life of SIS. The two LMCs are the perfect mix of traditional and digital learning. Reading, cultural activities, access to information, knowledge building, deep thinking and lively discussion all thrive in the LMC.

The LMC encourages co-operation and common learning through both traditional and digital modes. Digital literacy is a vital element of the LMC’s mission.

The main school library

Our library was originally established through the enormous dedication of our community in the 1960’s. That collaborative spirit continues today as we expand and deepen the LMC’s resources in the coming year.

Opening Hours:
  • 08:00 – 17:00 on full school days
  • 08:00 – 12:45 on half days

The Library is a multi-lingual resource containing an enormous range of books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, audio books, ebooks. We see our school’s library as a place where students learn and develop information seeking strategies.

In each of our LMC’s we have a “TechBar” to assist and support technology in the school. Our Tech Bars are open daily to assist teachers, students and parents with their use of technology at SIS.
