At SIS, we realise that education is about more than formal classroom teaching. Developing people skills and personal confidence are vital when building a well-rounded character
Our Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) programme prepares our students for life after school by embedding real life experiences into the syllabus. CAS is character building and encourages self-reflection and commitment. It helps our students enhance their personal and interpersonal development through experiential learning, while providing an important counterbalance to the academic pressures of the rest of the academic programme.
CAS is one of three core requirements of the IB Diploma Programme. Students complete a CAS portfolio, outlining their activities and experiences over the two years of the programme.
Some of the activities that students at SIS are involved in as part of CAS are:
- MUN – Model United Nations
- Roots and Shoots (developed by world renowned primatologist Jane Goodall)
- Amnesty International
- Student Council
- Student Newspaper – The Quirky Quibbler
