Screengrab from student stop motion film

For their last task of the year, Mr. Snell’s grade 9 Integrated Visual Art and Media class were asked to create a 60-second stop-motion animation. Many students chose to animate Lego whilst others used drawing tablets and animation software to create their films.

The themes were varied and the result was fantastic! Here is one of them by the hugely talented Shanmathi Jaganbabu (9v). This is the result of hundreds of individual photos pieced together and at least 5 hours of work.

Why not have a go yourself this summer! Download the free, and simple to use app on your mobile phone called “Stop Motion Studio”. Anyone can animate!
