David Hume

Originally from North Yorkshire in the UK, I have lived and worked in Scandinavia since 1987. After completing a B.Ed (with history as a main subject) at Southampton University and then later an M.Ed in Applied Linguistics from Bristol University, I worked in international schools, firstly in Finland and then in Sweden. i have worked in the MYP since 1997 as a Lang Lit and I&S teacher. I have also had experience of teaching in the DP as a Language and Literature and TOK teacher. From 2015 to 2018, I was the MYP coordinator at SIS and was responsible for leading us through our last accreditation.

I am passionate about the outdoors and as well as making the most of the fantastic natural experiences that Scandinavia has to offer, whether on foot, in a kayak or on skis, I have recently completed training as a wilderness guide. I have previously used this interest to lead International Award expeditions both here in Scandinavia and in the UK. I currently have both an enrichment course and an after school club devoted to developing outdoor skills with middle school kids.
