Gafor Macabalang

MYP/DP Mathematics and DP Chemistry Teacher

Gafor is originally from the Philippines where he obtained his undergraduate studies in Chemistry at Mindanao State University. He went on to further his studies in Japan where he received his PhD in Life Sciences from Kanazawa University.

After his stint as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at National Research Institute of Chinese Medicine, Taiwan, he returned to his first love – teaching. His teaching career began in the Philippines where he taught Chemistry and Mathematics at Philippines Science High school. He later moved to China and taught Chemistry at Cambridge International Centre of Shanghai Normal University (now U-link College of Shanghai).

He moved to Sweden in 2014 and taught Mathematics and Sciences in Swedish and IB schools. Gafor joined SIS in 2019 and currently teaches MYP/DP Mathematics and DP Chemistry.
