Kim Avery
Kim gained 11 years teaching experience in the UK before moving to Sweden in 2019. In 2012 she specialised in SEN teaching, completing her SENCo qualification. She is an advocate of the use of technology in the classroom and became a CAS (Computing at School) Master Teacher as well as CEOP Ambassador and CAS Barefoot Trainer. She has also written SEN activities for the UK CAS Barefoot curriculum and presented at the BETT show in London. In 2016 Kim achieved the accolade of Specialist Leader of Education.
In 2014, Kim set up a Hub in her school to support teachers across the county in delivering the computing curriculum to SEN students which earned her the national award for ‘Best Secondary Hub for SEND Schools’. Kim has also contributed to two publications; ‘Technology for SEND in Primary Schools’ and ‘Teaching Computing Unplugged in Primary Schools’.
