Mirjam Reitsema
Mirjam has had a diverse and impactful career journey, working in various roles related to education, mentoring, and supporting students for more than 15 years. Her background in Physical Health Education and her experience as a physical trainer in the Dutch Royal Army provided her with a solid foundation in understanding physical/mental well-being, and discipline. Transitioning to educational roles in schools, she focused on mentoring and supporting students who needed extra help, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of her students. Her decision to pursue a degree in Applied Psychology further equipped her with the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively with students who have behavioral challenges, developmental disorders, and autism.
Mirjam’s emphasis on building strong and positive connections with her students is a testament to her understanding of the importance of a supportive and nurturing learning environment. By fostering this connection, she aims to create a safe space where students can not only acquire skills but also gain the confidence to overcome challenges and succeed in various aspects of their lives. Mirjam and her family came from The Netherlands to Sweden in 2019. Her love for spending time in the outdoors with her family suggests a well-rounded approach to life, emphasising the importance of both professional and personal well-being.
