Our Annual Fund – give some to get some

The SIS Spirit Fund is there to allow us to do more than enough for our students

Everyone in our community can benefit from our Annual Fund – the SIS Spirit Fund. It’s there to make things happen that lie outside the normal operational budget of the School, supporting projects around the themes of Student experience, Academic excellence and innovation, and Campus development.

The SIS Spirit Fund was founded in 2019, and since then – notwithstanding the restrictions the pandemic imposed on activities – has added to the School by supporting educational programmes, procuring educational materials, refurbishing parts of our campus, and contributing  in other ways that add to our enjoyment and capabilities at SIS. Grants have been made from 5 000 to 100 000 SEK according to the ambitions for different projects.

As it celebrates its fourth birthday, some changes will be introduced to help us develop the fund.

  • You will now be able to make an ‘unrestricted’ donation – leaving it to the School to determine what the funds are used for, or you can earmark your gift for one of our specific areas of activity.
  • We have introduced more levels of giving to ensure your gift is recognised whatever amount you might be able to contribute.
  • An advisory group is being created that will widen community involvement in the process of granting funds to projects. This will represent of parents and teachers in the primary and secondary schools, and bring a student voice to the table too. The advisory group is there to help applicants make the best possible application, maximise the benefit for our community, and make a recommendation to the Senior Leadership Team who administer the SIS Spirit Fund.

The advisory group will be convened by Joseph Berglöw Kenneway from the Advancement Team, with Karen Grace, SPC VP Primary School, Nayantara Shah, SPC VP Middle School, as the parent voices. Delyana Glover and Brad Roets will be the staff representatives for Primary and Middle School respectively. Yfke Lottie Reijmer, and active member of the student body, will give the student view to the group.

Of course, for the SIS Spirit Fund to do its job, we need two things: applications and donations.

Applications to the Fund are open throughout the year, but we want to encourage you to bring forward your projects and make an application by the end of this term on December 15. Applications can come from anyone in our SIS community or any group – the only requirement is that a member of staff acts as a ‘sponsor’ of an application to ensure continuity.

And, of course, we need donations. If you haven’t donated before, or are unfamiliar with the Annual Fund visit the website to find out more, or to make your gift online

When we come together, the cumulative effect of donations, small, medium, or large, can make a big difference in our community, and take us to the next level. Because: why stop at enough?
