Let’s Get Physical
It’s been a busy time on the sporting front at SIS. Good fun and a little bit of competition has involved students of all ages and kept everyone on their toes.
Nordic League Successes
On the 7th October, SIS hosted the Nordic League senior football tournament. On the same date, our junior teams travelled to Oslo for the junior tournament. Our four teams all showed great spirit and determination.
The junior girls brought home with the gold medal from Norway! The junior boys fought hard as well, finishing in the bronze position. The senior boys proved they could hold their own against the eventual champions and eventually finished third. The senior girls team showed some great moves on attack and defence, and finished fourth.
The coaches praised the determination and sportsmanship of all teams. Well done to them all! And a big thank-you to the other schools, coaches, referees, and chaperones for making this tournament happen. In February the Nordic League Basketball Tournament will take place in Helsinki (juniors) and Copenhagen (seniors). Watch this space for news of our performances there!
Team Spirit
SIS now has some of the best turned out teams in Scandinavia. New kit has arrived in the bright red of today’s SIS courtesy of the SIS Spirit Fund.
Thanks to all our donors who helped make it happen, and good luck to our teams as they wear them in competition!
School Jog
Getting into the great outdoors is all part of life in Sweden, that’s why our Houses reflect the elements of the Swedish landscape. So the School Jog wasn’t to be abandoned despite the rain requiring a re-schedule. Remember, there is no bad weather, only the wrong clothing!
