Welcoming the Nordic Network
SIS is a founder member of the Nordic Network of International Schools. Ironically, as the network has grown, fewer member schools are able to host large numbers for a conference gathering. With our new space at Norra Latin, SIS was able to open its doors to welcome delegates from across the Nordic and Baltic regions, together with many of our own staff, for the Nordic Network Educators Conference.
The conference focused on professional development, and delegates were able to share thoughts on best practice and how to introduce different themes into their teaching and weave them into the fabric of their curriculum. With major themes including Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice, and using humour to connect, plus mini-workshops spanning everything from learning support to using music to improve mind and body, the two days were a rich cornucopia of knowledge and experience.
Middle School Principal, Michael Moore, and Primary School Principal, David Osler, worked closely with all our IT, logistics, and catering teams who got the building ready and solved problems with positivity and resourcefulness. As the first major event to be hosted at SIS, the Conference was an exciting precursor of future events.
